About the Captain

On USS CROMMELIN off the coast of Hawaii.

USS CROMMELIN off Hawaii coast, 2007.

I’m a retired naval officer who has made his life about boats- skiing behind them as a kid, studying them, sailing them, living on them and (of course) fixing them. I earned my commission from the US Naval Academy in 2005 and have been around boats ever since. I was the Navigator on USS CROMMELIN out of Pearl Harbor where we deployed a couple of times to the western and eastern Pacific Oceans. As Chief Engineer on USS FARRAGUT and USS HUE CITY out of Mayport, FL, I saw both ships through deployment preparations. Following those operational tours, I worked in ship and submarine repair in Kittery and San Diego.

After several cross-country moves with the Navy, my wife and I decided to return to York, Maine, one of our favorite duty stations and the most ideal for the family. To stay connected to the water, a boat purchase wasn’t far behind.

I spent the 2025 season learning my boat, the local waters and (being completely transparent) also how to fish striper, which turns out is highly addicting. I’ve found that on most outings it has been everyone else in my party catching the fish… and all things considered this likely makes me a decent fishing charter!

I hold a U.S. Coast Guard 100-ton Master’s License, which allows me to operate inspected passenger vessels commercially.

One Particular Charter is a part-time venture for me. While I offer fishing charters, I’m just as passionate about teaching others seamanship, navigation, and how to handle themselves on the water.

If availability is limited at times this summer, it may just mean the York 12U All Stars (the baseball team I’m lucky enough to coach) are on a tear.

I hope to see you out on the water!
